content

Essentially, the six-minute long song characterizes the people of the Ruhr area with their stubbornness, directness and openness, their loyalty and reliability and also their dry sense of humor. In the following text, the integration skills, football or the weather are discussed.

reception

The ARD director Fritz Pleitgen said of the piece: " It's a real Revier anthem that has what it takes to replace» Bochum «as the recognition song of the Ruhr area after 25 years ."

After the publication, various votes on the alternative best anthem for the Ruhr area were written in weblogs. The open music video project “Glück auf, Ruhrgebiet” by the Spardosen-Trzett sees itself as a lovingly quiet counterpoint to Grönemeyer's “Revier-Hymne” .

Komm zur Ruhr made it into the German single charts straight away and on January 22nd, 2010, it entered the single charts determined by Media Control. On the same day the single CD Komm zur Ruhr was released (EMI / Grönland), which contains a radio version of the title song in addition to the normal version.
