Konani (also: Germán Busch ) is a town in the La Paz department in the South American Andean state of Bolivia .
Location in the vicinity
Konani is the central place of the canton Germán Busch and fourth largest municipality of the municipality Sica Sica in the province Aroma . To the northwest of Konani extends the wide plain of the Bolivian highlands, and to the east of the place rises the Serranía de Sicasica , a north-south oriented mountain range between La Paz and Cochabamba , which rises to 4500 m.
geography
Konani lies at an altitude of 3781 m on the Bolivian Altiplano between the Andes mountain ranges of the Cordillera Occidental in the west and the Cordillera Central in the east. The region has a distinctive time-of-day climate in which the mean temperature fluctuation is greater during the day than during the year.
The annual average temperature of the region is around 11 ° C, the monthly values fluctuate only slightly between 7 ° C in June / July and 13 ° C in November / December (see Belén climate diagram). The annual precipitation is low 450 mm, in the arid period from April to October the monthly values are below 25 mm, and only the months December to February show heavier precipitation between 80 and 115 mm.
Transport network
Konani is located at a distance of 145 kilometers by road southeast of La Paz , the capital of the department of the same name.
From La Paz, the paved national road Ruta 2 leads west to El Alto , from there Ruta 1 south-east over 138 kilometers through Calamarca and Sica Sica to Konani . From there the road continues in a south-easterly direction to the departmental capitals Oruro , Potosí and Tarija and to Bermejo on the Argentine border.
In Konani the road to Quime branches off, which leads over the 4730 m high 'Tres-Cruces' pass of the Cordillera Quimsa Cruz .

Due to the historical population development, the region has a high proportion of Aymara population, in the Municipio Sica Sica 90.3 percent of the population speak Aymara .
