Konrad Bleuler-Hüni (born February 20, 1847 in Riesbach ; † September 7, 1921 in Zurich ; reformed , resident in Riesbach) was a Swiss politician ( FDP ).

Konrad Bleuler-Hüni was born on February 20, 1847 as the son of the farmer and mayor Hans Konrad Bleuler in Riesbach. Bleuler-Hüni completed a civil engineering degree at the Zurich Polytechnic . In 1873 he married Elise Hüni from Riesbach.

The free-spirited, liberal politician began his political career in the local council of Riesbach and as President of the Neumünster Church Administration. At the cantonal level, he worked in the Zurich Cantonal Council from 1884 to 1893 and 1911 to 1916 . At the same time he was in the government council from 1893 to 1911, among other things, the sanitary and building management.

His official duties included the establishment of the Regensdorf prison and the establishment of the cantonal electricity company (EWZ) . Bleuler-Hüni also acted as the initiator of the Etzelwerk and a co-founder of Nordostschweizerische Kraftwerke AG (NOK) . Bleuler-Hüni served in the Swiss Army as a colonel in the artillery . Konrad Bleuler-Hüni died on September 7, 1921 in Zurich.

Honor

The University of Zurich awarded him in 1915 in recognition of his legislative achievements in the field of water law and the power supply , the honorary doctorate .
