Konrad Goehl

Konrad Goehl (born June 24, 1938 ) is a German classical philologist , Middle Latin , Germanist and medical historian .

Live and act

Konrad Goehl comes from Ansbach and studied Greek, Latin and German at the Universities of Erlangen and Munich . Until 1996 he worked as a senior teacher in school. In 1984 he received his doctorate in philosophy from the University of Würzburg with a thesis on Guido d'Arezzo the Younger and his medical work Liber mitis, which was created in the 12th century and based on humoral pathology . He wrote numerous essays for the Würzburg medical history reports . In 1999 he was one of the founding members of the interdisciplinary research group for monastery medicine . Together with its director Johannes Gottfried Mayer , he published the Macer floridus by Odo Magdunensis, the general standard work of medieval herbal medicine, in a New High German version for the first time in 2001 .

In the German Science publishing further editions and translations followed key works of medieval pharmacology, including the approximate instans and the Canon of Medicine by Avicenna . Also teaches and researches Göhl in classical philology at the University of Würzburg and assists Udo Scholz W. in the publication of Persius - Scholien the tradition of family B.

Konrad Goehl lives in Jettingen near Augsburg.
