Konrad Stein

Konrad Stein (born November 24, 1674 in Rostock , † June 6, 1732 in Königsberg (Prussia) ) was a German lawyer .

Life

Stein's father was the merchant and hospital manager Walther Stein and his wife Anna, daughter of the merchant Jakob Hinckelmann. He is thus a younger brother of the later Königsberg lawyer Johann Stein and the Rostock resident Matthias Stein . He studied since November 2, 1694 at the University of Rostock . In 1697 he was the respondent of his brother Johann Stein at the University of Königsberg and on December 12, 1699 he was examined by his brother Matthias at the law faculty in Rostock.

In 1701 he obtained his licentiate in law in Rostock and in 1702 he received his doctorate in law from the University of Kiel. In 1703 he became an associate professor at the law faculty of the University of Königsberg and attorney at court. Since 1717 he participated as a city councilor in the municipal processes in Königsberg. In 1722 he became court judge and in 1731 full fourth professor of law at the Königsberg Academy.
