Korach psalm
A corach psalm is a psalm from the biblical book of psalms . The authors named are the sons of Korach who, according to chronicles ( 1 Chr 6 EU ), ( 1 Chr 9 EU ), ( 1 Chr 12 EU ), ( 1 Chr 16 EU ), were gatekeepers and musicians at the temple at the time of David . The chronicle describes the singers as Levites and is probably interested in organizing and historizing the singers using older texts as a basis. The Book of Samuel , to which the Chronicle often refers, does not know any Levitical singers. Rather, it is the women and David himself who are associated with the subject of singing. ( 1 Sam 18,6-7 EU ), ( 1 Sam 21,12 EU ), ( 1 Sam 2 EU ), ( 2 Sam 1 EU ), ( 2 Sam 22 EU ), ( 2 Sam 23 EU ), ( 1 Sam 19.36 EU ) In the Psalms the "Korachites" ("Sons of Korach") are only mentioned in summary form. The Korach psalms include Psalms 42 (-43), 44-49, 84-85 and 87-88 and, along with the David and Asaf psalms, represent one of the most important groups in the Psalter. The information is in Hebrew לִבְנֵי־קֹֽרַח lә'beney ḳoraḥ , German for / to the sons of Korach '. However, the correctness of these authors must be questioned critically. Basically, three possible scenarios are conceivable here: either the authorship is correct, there is a Korachitic editing of the text or the psalms have been assigned to the corresponding people afterwards.

Theological profile
The Korach psalms are shaped by a Zion and pre-exilic temple theology. According to Joachim Schaper , they also describe in their entirety the path of the pilgrims to the Jerusalem sanctuary, first using the perspective of the individual (Ps 42 / Ps 43), then of the people (Ps 44; Ps 85), the king (Ps 45), and then via Zion (Ps 46; Ps 48; Ps 84; Ps 87) to return to the perspective of the individual (Ps 88).
