The Corsican Ziest ( Stachys Corsica ) is a plant from the genus of Stachys ( Stachys ) and belongs to the family of the Lamiaceae (Labiatae).

description

The Corsican Ziest is a biennial or perennial herbaceous plant that reaches heights of between 5 and 40 centimeters. The thin stems are glabrous and prostrate.

The leaves are rounded to ovate , with three to seven notches.

The flowers stand individually or in pairs on one side in a pseudo-whorl. The calyx is hairy protruding with thorny teeth. The white, pink or purple-colored crown , with an edged or two-pronged upper lip, is 10 to 12 millimeters long.

The flowering period extends from April to November.

The chromosome number is 2n = 18.

Occurrence

The Corsican ziest only occurs in Corsica and Sardinia , where it is endemic . Moist crevices are preferred as the location.
