Friedrich Freiwald

Friedrich Wilhelm Freiwald (born May 8, 1911 in Lichterfelde ; † October 26, 1974 in Frankfurt am Main ) was a German lawyer and politician ( CDU ).

Life

After graduating from high school Philippinum in Marburg , Freiwald began studying law and economics, which he completed in 1935 with the first state examination and in 1939 with the second state examination. He then worked as a business lawyer in the organization of the commercial economy. From 1941 to 1945 he took part in the Second World War as a soldier . After the end of the war he initially worked in the organization of the timber industry. In 1950 he became managing director of the main association of the paper, cardboard and plastics processing industry in Frankfurt am Main.

In 1937 he joined the NSDAP as a trainee lawyer ( membership number 4,662,854).

Freiwald joined the CDU after 1945 and was deputy chairman of the CDU district association Frankfurt-Stadt. From 1956 to 1965 he was a councilor of the city of Frankfurt / Main and there since 1962 chairman of the CDU parliamentary group. He was a member of the German Bundestag from 1965 until his death. He was always drawn into parliament via the Hesse state list.

In 1965 he was awarded the plaque of honor of the city of Frankfurt am Main .
