The married couples Hoppenstedt and Pröhl met five years ago “on a campsite in Klagenfurt” and are celebrating this anniversary in a posh restaurant. After the main course everyone is in a relaxed mood. For dessert, the gentlemen order the house specialty, the so-called cossack croissant. Since the couples "now have something like a friendship", Hoppenstedt solemnly offers the " you ". Ms. Hoppenstedt received encouragement when she talked about her “ yodel diploma ”, which made her more independent and “something of her own”. Ms. Pröhl, on the other hand, rides what Ms. Hoppenstedt comments with “Riders are always needed”. When the waiter announced that there was only one cossack stick left, Messrs Hoppenstedt and Pröhl decided to share it brotherly.

Mr. Pröhl begins, but has already eaten a little more than half when he finally pushes the plate over to Mr. Hoppenstedt. He feels that he is being taken advantage of and particularly complains about the lack of lemon cream balls. While Mr. Pröhl initially tries to push the mishap aside with humor, Mr. Hoppenstedt remains dead serious, continually reproaches Mr. Prohl and assumes that he intended. Initially held back by their wives, the gentlemen begin to argue. The previously harmonious mood changes, the gentlemen suddenly go back to "you". When the waiter surprisingly serves a second Cossack piece, it is already too late. The dispute escalates and Mr Pröhl furiously decides to leave the restaurant. Outside, the two wives realize that “you shouldn't make acquaintances on campsites” and abuse each other as “yodelling snipe” and “whimsy mare”, followed by a final “rat!”. Meanwhile, an older man with a pointed cap appears and offers himself as a student Santa Claus.

That of Radio Bremen Sketch was first produced on December 7, 1978 as part of the broadcast Loriot VI in the ARD broadcast and later repeated several times, but does not belong to the Condensed Loriot sequence Christmas at Hoppenstedts .

The cossack croissant as a dessert

There are now many recipes for the Cossack croissant , which, however, often do not have much in common with the dessert invented by Loriot and its composition shown in the sketch. Even pastry chefs have created desserts, which they called Cossacks tip. For example, on the occasion of Loriot's 80th birthday in November 2003 , the Kamps bakery sold hundreds of thousands of “Cossack croissants” in its branches. These were chocolate foam kisses with dark mocha foam and a lemon truffle , which Confiserie Leysieffer supplied. On the occasion of Loriot's 95th birthday, the taste researcher Thomas A. Vilgis published a recipe with lemon cream balls and mocha truffle parfait on the SWR2 program on Saturday afternoon . Cossack croissants - called “ Qi Bing Mao ” (equestrian soldier's hat) by the German baker - are also said to have been made in China in 2008 .
