The Malženice power plant (in Slovak, Elektráreň Malženice ) is a combined cycle power plant in operation near Malženice in the Trakovice municipality in Okres Hlohovec in Slovakia . A few kilometers away is the Bohunice nuclear power plant .
Since the end of 2008, a power plant has been built by E.ON Kraftwerke on the site of an old gas compressor station (which was completely demolished) of the gas supplier SPP in 26 months . The main contractor was Siemens . In combined operation, the power plant has an electrical output of around 430 MW gross or 417 MW net. The construction costs amounted to around 400 million euros.
The power plant has been in cold reserve since October 2013 .
technology
In addition to the actual power plant location, a few kilometers away in the village of Žlkovce there is the installation drive on the Dudváh river for the raw water supply.
The configuration of the power plant is a single-shaft gas and steam power plant (type SCC5-4000F 1S). The steam turbine (type SST5-5000), generator and gas turbine run on one shaft. The live steam is generated in the waste heat boiler by exchanging heat with the exhaust gases from the gas turbine. The gas turbine is fired exclusively with natural gas . The estimated annual demand for natural gas is 500 million cubic meters. This corresponds to at least 5% of Slovakia's total natural gas demand. At full load , the gas consumption is around 75,000 Nm³ / h .
The power plant is cooled by a wet cooling tower (cell cooler).
The overall efficiency of the power plant is 58%.
