The power plant Prenzlau in 2011 as part of the power plant Uckermark and the world's first hydrogen -Wind- biogas - hybrid power plant put into operation. In addition to Enertrag AG , the project partners are Vattenfall Europe , Total and DB Energie . It is located northeast of the Prenzlauer local area on the road to Schenkenberg .

history

On April 21, 2009, Chancellor Merkel laid the foundation stone for the power plant in the presence of Brandenburg's Prime Minister Platzeck and Brandenburg's Economics Minister Junghanns . Commissioning finally took place on October 25, 2011.

functionality

The power plant consists essentially of three wind turbines of the type E-82 E2 Enercon with a rated output of 2.3  MW and a 500 kW electrolysis uses Plant, the possible excess electric current for the generation of hydrogen. Two combined heat and power plants can be operated with a mixture of hydrogen and biogas.

Both the block-type thermal power stations and the wind turbines deliver electricity that can be fed into the supply network. If there is an oversupply of electricity, it can be used for electrolysis in order to generate the gases oxygen and hydrogen from water, which are stored in tanks under high pressure. These tanks are storage for times of low wind in order to cover the energy needs of consumers with RE gas .
