history

Krahnstøver are Stephanie Heinitz, August Hoffmann and Torsten Welk. In 2010 the three met at a house party and decided without further ado to make music together.

After the first isolated appearances, including at Pop Up and the Leipzig Campus Festival as well as winning the Sturakete Band Contest, Krahnstøver went into the studio for the first time. Together with Ed East, guitarist of the indietronic band Chikinki , they recorded four songs in Berlin, which the band released in April 2011 on the EP Silva .

In the fall of 2011 the band also won the "Grand Prix" and was Leipzig's Band of the Year.

A support tour for I Heart Sharks followed in 2012 as well as first festival appearances on the Beyond Millions , Rocken am Brocken and some smaller festivals. Krahnstøver also played as the opening act for numerous international and national bands such as Phantogram , the Bondage Fairies , Phillip Boa and Captain Capa . In 2013 they also opened the Campus Open Air in Wismar .

On September 17, 2013, the band released their second EP Restless Silence .

In spring 2014 Krahnstøver played a Germany-wide tour for the first time. The first appearance in other European countries follows in July. At the invitation of the Goethe Institute, the band will represent their hometown of Leipzig in Paris ( France ).

style

Musically, Krahnstøver move between electronica , indie and melancholic electropop with disco influences. Pop10 describes the style as a mixture of "psychedelic rock and melancholic pop", Motor.de as "playful electro-pop, which is danceable as well as atmospheric and is carried by the charismatic voice of singer Stephie".
