Cancer (heraldic animal)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The cancer is an ancient emblem of heraldry .

It is shown in the plan view and stained predominantly red ( tinged ). However, it is not very widespread.

The common figure has been shown in the coat of arms since the 13th century . At that time, only the scissors were owned by the Krewet family.

The cancer is protective . The tank is supposed to symbolize this. The scissors can be interpreted as defenselessness. In Cancer you can see rebirth. One reason for this is the annual change of the chitin shell.

The crab is suitable for creating talking coats of arms . It is a symbol of the Polish Warnia heraldic tribe . Here it appears not only in the coat of arms , but also in the upper coat of arms .

At the same time, the representation of crabs indicates their (local) distribution and use.
