The district of Giornico is located in the lower Leventina between the districts of Riviera in the south and Faido in the north.
Communities
After the merger of the municipalities of Anzonico , Cavagnago and Sobrio with the municipality of Faido (all of which became part of Faido County ), the district now consists only of the following municipalities:
