The district Pregassona made until December 31, 2004 together with the circles Agno , Breno , Capriasca , Carona , Ceresio , Lugano West , Lugano East , Magliasina , Sessa , tavern and Vezia the District Lugano of the Swiss canton of Ticino . The seat of the district office was in Pregassona .

Due to the merger of all of its municipalities with the city of Lugano , the Pregassona district became obsolete and dissolved by decree of November 8, 2004 to December 31, 2004. Between 2005 and 2013, the former district was part of the Lugano Ost district (as it is east of the Cassarate River).

From the establishment of the new Lugano Nord district , the territory of the former Davesco-Soragno community was assigned to the new district, while the rest of the former Pregassona district remained with the Lugano Ost district .

Communities

When it was dissolved , the district was composed of the following municipalities: Cureggia , Davesco-Soragno , Gandria , Pregassona and Viganello .
