The "Kriegberg" settlement, also known as "Houses on the War Mountain", was created in the 17th century with the influx of Protestant religious refugees ( exiles ) who, in the course of the Counter-Reformation, made their Bohemian homeland and a. left the town of Graslitz , just across the border . Around 1642 mining was carried out in the "Johannes Fundgrube" on Kriegberg. Today the Kriegberg is known under the name "Körnerberg". The name "Kriegberg" comes from armed conflicts with neighboring Bohemia during the Thirty Years' War (1618 to 1648). The Kriegberg settlement was in the Electoral Saxon or Royal Saxon office of Voigtsberg until 1856 . As a result of the experiences of the Second World War and the new political situation in the GDR , the name was renamed from “Kriegberg” to “Friedensberg” in the 1950s, regardless of the historical origin of the name.
