Kristian Kühl

Kristian Kühl (born December 19, 1943 in Karlsruhe ) is a German lawyer and former professor of criminal law , criminal procedural law and legal philosophy at the Eberhard Karls University of Tübingen .

Life

Kristian Kühl passed his Abitur at the Melanchthon-Gymnasium in Bretten in 1963 . Military service was followed in 1964 by studying law in Würzburg , Heidelberg and Berlin. After the first state examination in law in 1968, he went on to study philosophy in Heidelberg, which he completed in 1973. Already in 1972, cooling was William Gallas to Dr. jur. utr. PhD. In 1983, under Konrad Cramer , he also earned the title of Dr. phil. at the Philosophical-Historical Faculty of the University of Heidelberg.

In 1981, the University of Bielefeld granted Kühl the venia legendi for criminal law, criminal procedural law and legal philosophy. Since 1975 he had already worked there as Udo Ebert's research assistant . He ended this activity after completing his habilitation and moved to the Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg as professor for criminal law . In 1984 he moved to Giessen before accepting a position in Tübingen in 1997. He held this chair until his retirement in 2014. His successor was Frank Saliger . Even after his retirement, Kühl is still active as a senior professor in Tübingen.

His main research interests are criminal law, general and special sections , criminal procedure law, legal philosophy, European criminal law , press criminal law and sports criminal law . He received honorary doctorates from the Universities of Huánuco (2010) and Athens (2012).

The textbook on the general part of criminal law and the commentary on the Criminal Code written together with Karl Lackner are particularly well known . He is the general editor of the journal for the entire field of criminal law .
