Kristianstads DFF is a Swedish football club from Kristianstad . The club, founded in 1998, emerged from a merger of the women's football departments of Kristianstads FF and Wä IF .
history
The women's soccer team of the WÄ IF rose to the Damallsvenskan for the first time before the 1990 season . There she played mainly in the back of the table before being relegated in 1994. In 1998 they returned to the top class and a year later the team merged with the lower class women's football team from Kristianstads FF.
The newly formed team, which took on the name Kristianstad / Wä DFF , played against relegation to the second division. This had to be accepted at the end of the 2001 season , after a few top positions in Division 1 Södra , the club , which has now been renamed Kristianstads DFF , managed to return to Damallsvenskan as the season winner in 2007. There succeeded in the 2008 season as ninth in the league table. In the following season, the club made international headlines when the team was shown partially naked due to a financial emergency of the club. In October 2012, the company made international headlines again when, due to financial bottlenecks, such an advertising campaign was once again accepted. For example, the then coach Mikael Forsberg shot a viral video in homage to the US series Baywatch - The Lifeguards of Malibu in order to win fans for women's football.
