Eva Kristina Birgitta Brounéus (born November 25, 1974 in Ramsele ) is a former Swedish biathlete . It started in the 1990s and 2000s at seven biathlon world championships and once at the Olympic Games .

Kristina Brounéus, tourism manager and at times also a sports soldier from Ramsele, has been running biathlon since 1990 and competes for the 121 IF Solleftea association. The hobby hunter, who lives in Östersund, made her debut in 1995 in her home country Östersund in the biathlon world cup . In her first race, an individual, she finished 58th. Only a little later Brounéus was able to compete in the 1995 biathlon world championships in Ruhpolding . There the Swede was 46th in the individual, 55th in the sprint and alongside Susanne Hjert , Magdalena Forsberg and Maria Schylander tenth in the relay. At the start of the 1996/97 season , she won her first World Cup points as 24th in the pursuit in Lillehammer . In Osrblie she achieved some of her best international results at the 1996 Biathlon World Championships . She was 26th in the sprint, 28th in the pursuit and eleventh in the individual. The eleventh place was also Brounéu's second best World Cup result in her career. At the World Cup station after the World Cup in Nozawa Onsen , Japan , the track on which the Olympic biathlon competitions of the Nagano Games were held a year later , she achieved her only top ten result in eighth place.
