Cultural Monument of the Year (Slovakia)

The Ministry of Culture of the Slovak Republic has been organizing the Kultúrna pamiatka roka (German cultural monument of the year) competition since 2007 , starting in 2006.

This year the awards were divided into two categories:

  • Preparation and implementation of the rehabilitation of a historical area (Slovak Príprava a realizácia obnovy historického prostredia )
  • Preparation and implementation of the repair / restoration of a national cultural monument (Slovak Príprava a realizácia obnovy / reštaurovania národnej kultúrnej pamiatky )

    • Repair of the historical monument zone in Skalica
  • Preparation and implementation of the repair / restoration of a national cultural monument
    • Comprehensive repairs and furniture restoration in the wooden articulated church of Hronsek , World Heritage since 2008
    • Restoration of the sacristy of the r.-k. Church of St. Stephen in Žilina
    • Comprehensive repair and restoration of the Johannes-der-Almosengeber chapel in St. Martin's Cathedral in Bratislava

  • Preparation and implementation of the restoration of a historical area

  • Preparation and implementation of the repair / restoration of a national cultural monument
    • Restoration of the medieval Golgotha ​​group of figures and extensive restoration of the wall paintings and furnishings of the sacristy of the Basilica of St. Giles in Bardejov
    • Return of the historical Apponyi library to the Oponice castle
    • Exemplary restoration of a town house on Kammerhofská ulica No. 16 in Banská Štiavnica
    • Restoration of the main altar of the Assumption and side altar in the r.-k. Nicholas Church in Domaniža
