Kumiai Kagaku Kōgyō KK ( Japanese ク ミ ア イ 化学 工業 株式会社 , Kumiai Kagaku Kōgyō kabushiki kaisha , English Kumiai Chemical Industry Co., Ltd. ) is a listed Japanese manufacturer of crop protection products . The research is carried out as a joint venture with Ihara Chemical Kōgyō .

history

The company goes back to a cooperative ( kumiai ) of citrus farmers in Shizuoka from 1928. In addition, the production of pesticides began. In 1949 the company was transformed into a public limited company, which took its current name in 1968.

Milestones were the introduction of the fungicide Iprobefos (Kitazin) in 1964 and the herbicide Thiobencarb in 1969.
