Most curious book title of the year
The most curious book title of the year is an undoped literary prize that has been awarded since 2008 for the most unusual German-language book title of a year. The prize is based on the English-language Diagram Prize and was donated from 2008 to 2011 by the Börsenblatt for the German book trade together with the editors of Schott's hodgepodge . The prize is awarded at the Frankfurt Book Fair .
Details
The award winner was selected in a multi-stage process until 2011. On the basis of submissions from readers and booksellers , an editorial team created a longlist , from which a shortlist of six titles was then determined with the help of an Internet vote . The winner of the competition was then selected by a three-person jury. In 2010 the jury consisted of the journalist and presenter Luzia Braun , the cabaret artist Eckart von Hirschhausen and the journalist Bodo Mrozektogether. In addition to a certificate, the traditional prize was a bottle of champagne and a material prize tailored to the book title. In 2010 it was a bottle of washing-up liquid, in 2011 an egg timer.
Since the Frankfurt Book Fair 2013, the prize has been awarded by the literary editorial team of Deutschlandfunk Kultur and has also been named Pug of the Year .
