Saxon postal mileage column Bad Lauchstädt
The listed Saxon post mile pillar is one of the post mile pillars that were erected on behalf of Elector Friedrich August I of Saxony by Land and Border Commissioner Adam Friedrich Zürner in the first half of the 18th century in the Electorate of Saxony . It is a quarter milestone. It is located in a small green area on Querfurter Straße at the corner of Lindenstraße in the small town of Bad Lauchstädt in Saxony-Anhalt in the Saale district .
history
The stone no longer bears the year, no series number and no monogram, as these were no longer recognizable. It was built before 1738 on the Leipzig - Merseburg - Schafstädt - Eisleben - Harkerode - Quedlinburg - Halberstadt - Braunschweig (- Lüneburg - Hamburg ) and Merseburg - Lauchstädt - Schafstädt - Querfurt - Sangerhausen postal service routes . The find from Querfurter Straße was restored in 1980 and put back in the spa facilities about 15 meters next to the Goethe Theater . In autumn 2007 another restoration took place, during which at least the post horns still recognizable on the stone were made gold-plated and an explanatory board was placed next to the stone.
