Kurt F. Reinhardt

Kurt Frank Reinhardt (born November 6, 1896 in Munich ; † June 13, 1983 in Palo Alto ) was an American Germanist ( philologist or linguist ), philosopher and teacher .

Reinhardt attended the classical grammar school in Mannheim and then studied literature, philosophy and art history at the universities of Munich , Heidelberg and Freiburg . During the First World War he worked as a dramaturge . In 1925 he began to work for the Herder publishing house . He was a correspondent for the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung .

From 1928 to 1930 he taught German literature at the University of Oregon . From 1930 to 1962 he was a professor in the Department of Modern European Languages ​​and of the German Studies Department at Stanford University .

His most famous work is Germany: 2000 years .
