Kurt Klimmeck

Kurt Klimmeck (* 1882 in Alt Muntowen , Sensburg district , Masuria ; † 1939 in Potsdam ) was a German veterinarian , senior government councilor and specialist book author .

Life

Kurt Klimmeck studied veterinary medicine at the University of Veterinary Medicine (TiHo) in Berlin and obtained his license to practice medicine . In 1906 he worked as an assistant to the veterinary council in Johannisburg . From 1907 to 1914 he was employed as director of the slaughterhouse in Strasburg in West Prussia . In 1914 he was called up for military service and took part in the First World War. He served as a military veterinarian and horse doctor of the cavalry in the XVII. Reserve Corps - first at the horse hospital then at the horse depot .

In 1921/22 Klimmeck was director of the slaughterhouse in Allenstein in Warmia . In 1922 received his doctorate he attended the University of Veterinary Medicine Berlin with the dissertation contributions to the anatomy of the intestine from pigs as a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (Dr. med. Vet.) And was from 1923 as a county veterinarian hired. He was then in 1925 as an employee in the Prussian Ministry of Agriculture and in 1927 government and Veterinärrat the marienwerder beamtet.

From 1928 he was again active as a senior government and veterinary council in the Prussian Ministry of Agriculture, Domains and Forests in Berlin. He was also a special consultant for meat inspection , veterinary food monitoring and medical milk science in the veterinary department of the responsible ministry. Klimmeck also worked as a consultant in the drafting of the Food Act of July 5, 1927 and the Milk Act of July 31, 1930.

Together with Arthur Schröter , Max Hellich, Fritz Backhaus, he wrote the work The Meat Inspection Act (dated June 3, 1900) along with the Prussian Implementing Act and Implementing Regulations as well as the Prussian Slaughterhouse Act , which was first published in Berlin in 1930 and published for the fifth time in 1934.

In 1931 Kurt Klimmeck was appointed an extraordinary member of the state veterinary office and a member of the examination committee for veterinary councils. From November 11th to December 29th, 1932, he was temporarily in temporary retirement. From December 1, 1932, he worked as an employee in the Reich Ministry of the Interior (RMI) and from May 27, 1933 in the administrative district of Breslau . In 1934, together with the hygienist Johannes Kathe from Wroclaw, he published the monograph on the dangers of using bacteria of the enteritis group to eradicate animal pests , which had met with both interest and criticism.

Kurt Klimmeck was transferred to Potsdam on April 1, 1937 and lived there until the end of his life.
