Kurt Seibert

Kurt Seibert (born April 26, 1944 in Litzmannstadt ) is a German pianist , chamber musician and professor emeritus at the Bremen University of the Arts .

Life

Seibert received his training as a pianist and chamber musician with Conrad Hansen , Hans Leygraf and Philipp Jarnach and studied music theory with Wilhelm Maler .

In 1974, the Bremen Conservatory appointed Kurt Seibert for piano training. He later held the chair for piano and chamber music at the Bremen University of the Arts . In 1990 Seibert was elected Dean and Head of the Music Department . In Bremen, he was a board member of the National Music Council of Bremen , a member of the Radio Bremen - Broadcasting Council , Chairman of the State Committee Young Musicians and founding member of the Bremen Piano Competition . Seibert founded and directed the Weidener Max Reger Days, which still take place today, in Weiden in the Upper Palatinate from 1998 to 2007 and was honored for this. Together with Hanns-Martin Schreiber, he initiated the annual Max-Reger-Forum in 2008 . With the participation of Erik Roßbander , he gives lecture concerts at which, in addition to questions of the musical interpretation of music, the cultural-historical context is examined.
