The final round of the German Chess Team Championship in 1952 took place on March 29, 1953 in Berlin .

The Munich chess club and the chess company Eckbauer Berlin competed in the final of the West German team championship in 1952 . The defending champion Munich Chess Club from 1836 also secured the title in the game year 1952/53. He thus underscored his victory from last year .

In the 1952/53 season, two intermediate rounds were played after a few preliminary rounds, one in the north and one in the south of West Germany .

Intermediate round south

The intermediate round south was held on March 14th and 15th, 1953 in Freiburg im Breisgau .

The Munich team switched the Düsseldorf Chess Society ( Georg Kieninger , Walter Niephaus , Walter Loose , Immo Engert, Heinrich Lohmann , Karl Fenske, Erwin Herber, Siegfried Heil) with 5: 3 board points and the Freiburg Chess Club ( Gottlieb Machate , Emil Joseph Diemer , Rudolf Kraus , Friedrich Kopp, Karl Wettach, Willi Best, Peter Lott, Klaus Geis) with 7: 1 points. The Düsseldorf team won 5: 3 points against Freiburg.

Intermediate round north

In the intermediate round north, the chess company Eckbauer Berlin had prevailed against the Hamburg chess club with 4.5: 3.5 board points and against Bielefeld with 5.5: 2.5 points.
