The final round of the German team championship in chess in 1961 took place from December 8 to 10, 1961 in the East Westphalian city ​​of Minden in North Rhine-Westphalia .

The Berlin SG 1827 Eckbauer , the railway chess club Turm Köln , the Munich Chess Club from 1836 and the SK Palamedes Hamburg competed in the final of the 15th West German team championship . A round-robin tournament was held. Willi Fohl was the tournament director.
