The finals of the German team championship in chess in 1972 took place from November 24th to 26th in Göttingen . The Bamberg Chess Club , the Hamburg Chess Society , the Heidelberg Chess Club and the Solingen Chess Society 1868 , the winners of four qualifying tournaments for the German Team Championship, were eligible to participate .
