The final round of the German team championship in chess 1953 took place on January 16 and 17, 1954 in Duisburg-Hamborn .
The Munich Chess Club from 1836 (defending champion), the Chess Society Eckbauer Berlin , the Düsseldorf Chess Society from 1925 and the Hamborner Chess Society from 1922 in the final of the 7th West German Team Championship in 1953 in Hamborn. A round-robin tournament was held. The tournament director was Heinz Westermann.
