Final round of the German team championship in chess 1965

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The final round of the German Chess Team Championship in 1965 did not take place until February 4 to 6, 1966 in the Bamberg Harmoniesaal, because a long dispute between the German Chess Federation and its Central Rhine Regional Association first had to be settled. Therefore, the preliminary round of the North-West group could only take place from January 14th to 16th, 1966.

The Porz chess community took part in a final round for the second time, but before that there were long-lasting problems with the German Chess Federation. The Aachen local association had switched from North Rhine-Westphalia to the Middle Rhine without consent, which is why it was only possible to avoid blocking the entire Middle Rhine regional association through a settlement.

There were Palamedes Hamburg , the Munich chess club from 1836 , the chess community Porz and the chess club Bamberg in the final of the West German team championship game season 1964/65 to. A round-robin tournament was held.
