The final round of the German team championship in chess in 1966 took place from November 18 to 20, 1966 in Frankfurt am Main .

The SC Bamberg , Königsspringer Frankfurt , the SG Porz and the SV Wilmersdorf competed in the final of the West German team championship in 1966 , which was held as a round-robin tournament.

The four preliminary rounds

The king jumpers had thrown the Munich SC 1836 out of the race in the Stuttgart preliminary round . With Klaus Darga , Egon Joppen , Hans Besser , Gerhard Fahnenschmidt and other players, they scored a total of 19 points from 24 games. SV Stuttgart and SK 1912 Ludwigshafen followed in 3rd and 4th place .

In Hamburg , SK Palamedes was pushed to second place by SV Wilmersdorf .

The SC Bamberg qualified as hosts against the Heidelberger SK 1879 , the Stuttgarter SF 07 and SC Saarlouis-Roden .

The SG Porz had prevailed against the Hannoversche SK from 1876 , the Essen SG 04 and the SK Bremen-Ost .
