The final round of the German Chess Team Championship in 1949 took place in November 1949 in the Mathildenhöhe in Darmstadt .
Bamberg , Barmen , Berlin, Darmstadt, Hamburg and Mannheim fought for the German team championship in 1949 .
Georg Kieninger writes: "It was very interesting for me to attend such team fights as a spectator and to study the milieu so different from the individual championships".
