The final round of the German team championship in chess in 1964 took place from October 15 to 17, 1964 in Solingen .
The Hanoverian Chess Club , the Munich Chess Club from 1836 , the Porz chess community and the Palamedes Hamburg chess club competed in the finals of the West German team championship game season 1963/64 . A round-robin tournament was held.

The Porz chess community took part in a final round for the first time. Josef Gerer from Munich got three points from three games. These supraregional meetings offer every club an incentive to improve their performance and give the young, less well-known players on boards 7 and 8 the opportunity to participate in German chess on a larger scale.
