Final round of the German team championship in chess 1951

The final round of the German team championship in chess in 1951 took place in Hamburg in autumn 1951 .

The Munich Chess Club , the Hamburg Chess Society (defending champion) and Leipzig East competed in the final of the all-German team championship .

Welcome speeches (on Saturday) were given by Willi Fohl (Hamburg Chess Association) and Friedrich A. Stock (Vice President of the German Chess Federation ) in the rooms of the Hamburg Chess Club . Gustav Müller (head of the chess section in the German sports committee) replied with warm words.

Then the Munich Chess Club played against the Hamburg Chess Society for the winner of the German Chess Federation on eight boards. Munich won 5: 3 against the defending champion.

On Sunday then Munich played ten boards against Leipzig. With a narrow victory, Munich became all-German champions.
