Vera Alexandra Dillier , b. Lang (born October 19, 1948 in Zurich ) is a Swiss author and jet setter .

Life

Vera Lang was born into a wealthy family in Zurich- Witikon and grew up in Zurich. She studied expressive dance and ballet in Bern and Paris and then worked for a long time as a ballet dancer. In 1982 she married the business lawyer, polo player and entrepreneur Piero Dillier, who, like her, came from Zurich. Together they founded the Zurich Polo Club. Dillier had himself photographed half-naked for Playboy in 1988 , which caused a sensation. After eleven years of marriage, Dillier divorced in 1993; the war of the roses in court dragged on for 4.5 years.

In 1996, Dillier never published the novel Marry a Swiss , which is characterized by autobiography: In the work, the main character Alexina Lorenzi is betrayed and abandoned by her husband; she stays behind with the adopted child. Her ex-husband tried in vain to stop the novel from being published. She presented her book in numerous talk shows in German-speaking countries as well as in 1997 with a reading at the Leipzig Book Fair . The book sold over 10,000 times. A successor work announced at the end of the 1990s was not published.

After their divorce, Dillier entered into a relationship with Felix Guyer, President of the Swiss Association of Booksellers and Publishers (SBVV), whom she met in 1996 at the Frankfurt Book Fair . The couple split in 2014, which caused a stir.

Dillier lives in public. She publicly discussed, among other things, several cosmetic surgeries, such as a nose operation and regular Botox treatments. In 2000 she was the presenter of the Swiss Internet television channel Liveevil NetTV and from 2000 to 2005 she was the owner of the Fehr'schen bookstore in St. Gallen , which originally belonged to her partner. In 2003 she was in the public eye, among other things, because an impostor forged credit cards in her name, bringing her for more than 32,000 francs. In the summer of 2011, she publicly mourned her Chihuahua, who died at the age of 17 and was described by the tabloid Blick as "one of the most famous dogs in Switzerland". In June 2017 Dillier was a participant in the successful SRF 1 docu-soap Mini Beiz, dini Beiz . Their participation took place as part of a "normal" round and not as part of a celebrity special.

Dillier claims to have earned millions through inherited and purchased real estate, stock market transactions and a divorce. She lives in St. Moritz , Zurich and Buenos Aires . She has no biological children, but adopted the daughter of her former Brazilian cleaner. Dillier keeps her age a secret from the public, since she never wants to be called "old box" by men; nevertheless it is regularly reported in the press; she herself gave it to a magazine in 2000.

reception

The Swiss press sees Dillier as “Switzerland's flagship jet setter”, who is known neither for money nor for exceptional achievements: “When people talk about luxury and idleness, one name comes up quickly and again and again: Vera Dillier. The former party girl has long since mutated into a book author and subsequently into a media star. And nobody really knows why. ”“ Vera Dillier has washed herself out in public under the title jet setter, without it being possible to understand what exactly her track record is, ”said the SonntagsZeitung . "If a name embodies the rather measly Zurich jet set, it is unquestionably that of Vera Dillier," stated the Tages-Anzeiger . It is often referred to in the press as " Cervelatpromi ". The tabloid show high & mighty of the Swiss television drew Dillier 2007 with the price of Crazy-Glory 2007 as craziest celebrity Switzerland.
