Kurt Wein
Kurt Wein (born February 22, 1883 in Eisleben , † March 11, 1968 in Nordhausen ) was a German educator and botanist . Its official botanical author's abbreviation is " Wine "
Life
The son of a businessman attended the community school and the teachers' college in Eisleben. In Rehmsdorf he then got a job as a teacher. This was followed by Blankenheim, Helbra and from 1912 Nordhausen as locations. He worked in Nordhausen for 34 years until 1946, after which he had to retire from school.
In 1952, Wein received an order from the Sangerhausen Rosarium and the director of the Institute for Crop Plant Research in Gatersleben to redefine the wild roses there and to research the history of local crops.

- A street in Lutherstadt Eisleben was named after him.
