Kurt von Schmeling
Kurt von Schmeling (born September 10, 1860 in Berlin , † March 4, 1930 in Potsdam ) was President of the Prussian government .
Life
The son of Lieutenant Colonel Bogislav von Schmeling (1827-1896) did not pursue a military career like his father, but a civil servant career after studying law. He became district administrator in the Stuhm district in 1893 and in the Stolp district in 1899 . In 1905 he became a secret councilor and lecturer in the Ministry of Agriculture. From 1907 to 1910 he was a member of the German Conservative Party in the Prussian House of Representatives . In 1910 he was appointed to the Secret Upper Government Council. From 1910 to 1922 he was the regional president of the administrative district of Stettin .
He married Karla von Burgsdorff (1869–1939) in Potsdam on September 29, 1891 . From this marriage two sons were born.
