Leopold Nicolaus George von Zitzewitz

Leopold Nicolaus George von Zitzewitz , also written Leopold Nikolaus Georg (born April 6, 1761 in Budow , † November 21, 1818 in Stolp ) was a Prussian district administrator . From 1806 until his death he headed the Stolpescher Kreis in Western Pomerania .

Life

origin

He came from the Pomeranian noble family Zitzewitz . His father Gneomar von Zitzewitz (1701–1772) was a Prussian captain and heir to Budow and Nippoglense in the Stolpescher Kreis. His mother Sophie was born by von Pirch .

Career

Zitzewitz first grew up in his parents' house in Budow and was then given retirement to the pastor in Zirchow for three years , where he received lessons. In mid-1774, when he was 13, he joined the Prussian army . Lieutenant since 1782, he was injured in 1787, so that he had to say goodbye. He was given the character of a captain.

After returning to Pomerania, he bought the Rexin estate in the Stolpescher Kreis . In 1795 he sold Rexin and bought the Schurow estate for it . After three years he sold Schurow and bought the Kosemühl estate for it . He acquired the possessions of Kose , Kosemühl, Klein Rakitt with Paschkenkrug , Gloddow , Swantee and Lessaken , which formerly belonged to the noble Rexin family . With that he, who had not inherited any real estate, had become one of the largest landowners in his family.

In 1806 he was elected as the successor to the late Friedrich Bogislaw von Puttkamer to the district administrator of the Stolpescher Kreis. He remained district administrator until his death in 1818. Carl Christoph Ludwig von Kösteritz succeeded him as district administrator .

family

He had been married to Eleonore, born von Boehn , since 1789 . The marriage resulted in two sons and two daughters. While still alive, he transferred his property to his son Alexander von Zitzewitz , who later became landscape director.
