Walter von der Marwitz

Walter von der Marwitz (born September 24, 1880 ; † 1945 in Rütznow , district of Greifenberg i. Pom. ) Was a German manor owner and administrative lawyer.

Life

Walter von der Marwitz came from the noble von der Marwitz family and was the son of Major General a. D. Oskar von der Marwitz . After graduating from high school, he studied law and camera science at the Ruprecht-Karls-Universität Heidelberg . In 1899 he was one of nine later to become Ritterguts- and Fideikommißbesitzern that the Corps Saxo-Borussia Heidelberg recipiert were. After the exams he joined the internal administration of Prussia. In 1910 he was a government assessor at the Neuhaus office . During the First World War he served as a Johanniter in the main headquarters . He was Councilor in the Prussian Ministry of Agriculture, domains and forests . In May 1918 he was appointed provisionally , and on November 1, 1918 he was finally appointed district administrator in the Stolp district. The November Revolution he did not survive. He was replaced on January 19, 1919 and replaced by Friedrich Wilhelm Dombois . Theodor Kramer followed temporarily in 1919/20 . Walter von der Marwitz probably withdrew to the heir Rütznow manor near Greifenberg i. Pom. back. In the Battle of East Pomerania he was killed when the Red Army marched in at the age of 65. He was married to Oda geb. from Alvensleben . With her he had two sons and a daughter.
