Hans Hugo Erdmann von Gottberg

Hans Hugo Erdmann von Gottberg (born September 9, 1812 in Mahnwitz , Pomerania, † January 11, 1890 in Stolp ) was a Prussian manor owner and politician.

Live and act

He came from the noble Gottberg family . After the early death of his mother, he was first educated in the Plamann educational institution in Berlin . He then attended high school in Köslin . From 1830 to 1833 he studied law at the Albertus University in Königsberg and the Friedrich Wilhelms University in Berlin . He then worked as a trainee lawyer at the Higher Regional Court in Köslin. For health reasons, he took his leave in 1837. As administrator he took over the Mahnwitz estate belonging to his father , whose owner he became in 1842.

Between 1841 and 1871 Gottberg was a member of the Provincial Parliament of the Province of Pomerania , and in 1847 a member of the United State Parliament . From May 18, 1848 he was a member of the Frankfurt National Assembly for the 2nd constituency of the province of Pomerania ( Stolp ) . But he took little part in the work of the National Assembly and resigned on June 26, 1848; Gustav Heinrich Kratz, councilor of the landscape, followed him as a new member .

From 1853 to 1873 Gottberg was district administrator for the Stolp district and councilor . Between 1862 and 1866 v. Gottberg member of the Prussian House of Representatives for the Conservative Party (Prussia) for the first time . In 1867 he was also a member of the constituent Reichstag of the North German Confederation as a member of the constituency Köslin 1 ( Stolp - Lauenburg i. Pom. ). Between 1870 and 1873 Gottberg was once again a member of the House of Representatives. Because he voted against government proposals for district reform at this time, he was put up for disposition as district administrator. In early 1883 he was given final retirement.
