Kaspar Ewald von Massow

Kaspar Ewald von Massow , also Caspar Ewald von Massow (* 1629 or June 10, 1639 , † December 10, 1694 ) was a Pomeranian district administrator . He headed the Stolpeschen Kreis in Western Pomerania .

He was a member of the Pomeranian noble family von Massow . The family history (1878) shows that he was born on June 10, 1639, the Neue Deutsche Biographie (1990) names the year of birth 1629. His father was the squire Jacob von Massow; his mother Barbara was born by Flemming .

Kaspar Ewald von Massow studied at several universities, including the University of Wittenberg . After completing his studies, he made an extensive journey that took him to England and France ( cavalier tour ).

Massow was the heir to Woblanse , Derselitz , Zezenow , Kunsow and Sanskow . He became district administrator and director of the Stolpeschen Kreis . He was also an assessor at the court.

Kaspar Ewald von Massow was first married to Catharina von Zitzewitz , daughter of the dean of Camminer Georg von Zitzewitz. In his second marriage in 1676 he married Maria von der Osten (* 1654, † 1687), daughter of District Administrator Erdmann Christof von der Osten . The first marriage had two sons and a daughter, and the second marriage also had two sons and a daughter. The son from his first marriage, Kaspar Otto von Massow (* 1665; † 1736) made a career in the Prussian civil service and became secret budget and war minister and chief president of Pomerania. The daughter from the second marriage Ester Juliana von Massow (* 1672, † 1752) married the district administrator Georg Christof von Hoym .

Massow died in 1694 and was buried in Bartin .
