Kwiatoń ( Ukrainian Квятонь Kviaton ' ) is a village with a Schulzenamt of the rural community Uście Gorlickie in the powiat Gorlicki of the Lesser Poland Voivodeship in Poland .

The place is located on the Zdynia river in the Lower Beskids in the so-called Lemkenland .
history
The place was first mentioned in 1423, and then in 1480 ( Quathon ) and 1528, when it received Wallachian law , but not in the tax register of 1581. It belonged to the noble Gładysz family . In 1621 there were only 2 farms there.
During the first partition of Poland in 1772, Kwiatoń became part of the new Kingdom of Galicia and Lodomeria of the Habsburg Empire (from 1804).
In 1785 the village had about 220 inhabitants. In 1900 the municipality of Kwiatoń had 46 houses with 235 inhabitants, all of them Ruthenian-speaking, 228 Greek-Catholic, 7 Jews.
In 1918, after the end of the First World War and the collapse of the Austro-Hungarian monarchy, Kwiatoń became part of Poland. In the years 1932–1933, 33 of 40 families changed their denomination to Orthodox and formed their own church, after which there were no conflicts between Greek Catholic and Orthodox residents.
During the Second World War the place belonged to the Generalgouvernement . In 1945 a dozen families voluntarily went east. Between June 11th and 15th, 1947, many Lemks were expelled as part of the Vistula Action , only two families remained.
From 1975 to 1998 Kwiatoń was part of the Nowy Sącz Voivodeship .
Attractions
- Former Greek Catholic Church (Cerkiew św. Paraskewy) , built in the 17th century, after the Vistula Roman Catholic action , included in the UNESCO World Heritage List from 2013 , see the wooden churches of the Carpathian region in Poland and Ukraine
- Orthodox church, built in 1933, a warehouse after the Vistula campaign, renovated in 1988, after the re-consecration in 1989 again orthodox.
