Léo-Paul-Samuel Robert , (born March 19, 1851 in Biel / Bienne , † October 10, 1923 in Orvin ) was a Swiss painter .

Robert was the son of Aurèle Robert and the nephew of Léopold Robert , who - like his sons Théophile Robert , Philippe Robert and Paul-André Robert - were also painters.

After Robert was introduced to the art of painting by his father, he continued his education at the Munich Art Academy from 1869 .

In 1871 his father died, whereupon he returned to the Ried in Biel. Further educational stays in Florence and Paris followed . In 1896 he received a small gold medal at the International Art Exhibition in Berlin . In the course of his career, Robert painted first allegories , later landscapes and finally watercolors of birds and caterpillars.

Robert had created the wall paintings for the art museum in Neuchâtel . In the New Museum Biel (until 2011 Museum Neuhaus ) pictures of the 3000 works of the Robert Foundation are on display.

In Biel, the Paul-Robert-Weg is named after him.
