Léonhard "Léon" Quaglia (born January 4, 1896 in Cluses , France , † March 5, 1961 in Chamonix ) was a French ice hockey player and speed skater .

Career

Léon Quaglia participated for the French national ice hockey team in the 1920 Summer Olympics in Antwerp and the 1924 Winter Olympics in Chamonix and 1928 in St. Moritz . At the European Championship in 1923 he won the silver medal with his team and was the top scorer of the tournament with ten goals. At the European Championship in 1924 he even won the gold medal with France. He himself scored the 2-0 goal in the 2-1 final win against Sweden . At club level he played for the Chamonix Hockey Club , with which he won the French championship title in the 1922/23 and 1929/30 seasons . In the 1924/25 season he was the first Italian champion with the Hockey Club Milano . He did not end his career as a hockey player until the age of 53.

In 2010 he was awarded a place in the Temple de la renown du hockey français .

At the Winter Games in 1924 and 1928, he also competed for France in various disciplines of speed skating .
