Lípa ( German Lindig ) is a district of Merklín in the Czech Republic .
geography
Lípa is located on the Lindigbach directly on the southern steep drop of the Bohemian Ore Mountains not far from Jáchymov at the foot of the Plešiveces . The houses of Kaff am Pleßberg (Plešivec), which no longer exist today, belonged to Lípa as a district.
history
The place was created around the year 1400 by mining for silver and tin .
After the decline in mining, the residents ran agriculture and livestock or commuted to the factories in Merkelsgrün or Salmthal . In 1939 187 people lived here in 31 houses.
The largely German population of the place was expelled from their homeland by 1946. Due to the sheltered location, however, many of the town's houses remained standing and, in contrast to the higher-lying towns, were not demolished. There was a single-class elementary school in Lindig. The entire place was parish to Lichtenstadt . In 1950 Lípa was incorporated into Merklín.
In 2001 the village consisted of 17 houses in which 17 people lived.
