geography

course

It rises at about 525 meters above sea level near Reinsfeld as Dörrenbach , takes on the Rotbach near Hermeskeil and is then called Löster . It flows through the Mühlental am Steinerwald, crosses under the federal motorway 1 ( Europastraße 422 ) at the Lösterbachtalbrücke , flows through Bierfeld and Löstertal and flows into the Prims at about 265 meters above sea level south of the Saarland town of Wadern near Dagstuhl Castle in the Prims, shortly before the confluence of the Wadrill in the Prims. The Hochwaldbahn runs from Hermeskeil through the valley and crosses it in the area where the Felsbach (border between Rhineland-Palatinate and Saarland) flows into the Löster.
