Bierfeld is a part of the municipality of Nonnweiler in the St. Wendel district ( Saarland ). Bierfeld was an independent municipality until the end of 1973.

The place is located northwest of the main town Nonnweiler at the junction "Nonnweiler / Bierfeld" of the federal highway 1 . Sitzerath is located southwest of Bierfeld . Due to its location, there are convenient connections by car to Trier (via A1 45 km), to Saarbrücken (via A1 55 km), to Kaiserslautern (via A62 75 km) and to Luxembourg City (via A1 90 km). The place is on the Primstal cycle path .

history

As part of the Saarland territorial and administrative reform , the previously independent municipality of Bierfeld was assigned to the municipality of Nonnweiler on January 1, 1974.

The “Maasberg” plant of Diehl BGT Defense is located in the north-west of Bierfeld . In addition, Haas GmbH meat and sausage products started a small butcher's shop here.
