L'Oudon is a former French commune with last 1,608 inhabitants (as of January 1 2016) in the department of Calvados in the region of Normandy ; it belonged to the Arrondissement of Lisieux and the Canton of Livarot .

The municipality of L'Oudon was founded on January 1, 2017 with twelve other municipalities, namely Boissey , Bretteville-sur-Dives , Hiéville , Mittois , Montviette , Ouville-la-Bien-Tournée , Sainte-Marguerite-de-Viette , Saint-Georges -en-Auge , Saint-Pierre-sur-Dives , Thiéville , Vaudeloges and Vieux-Pont-en-Auge have merged to form the new municipality of Saint-Pierre-en-Auge .

L'Oudon was about 37 kilometers southeast of Caen on the Oudon . L'Oudon was surrounded by the neighboring municipalities of Hiéville , Mittois and Saint-Georges-en-Auge in the north, Montviette in the north and northeast, Heurtevent in the northeast, Tortisambert and Les Autels-Saint-Bazile in the east, Le Renouard in the southeast, Saint- Gervais-des-Sablons in the south and south-east, Les Moutiers-en-Auge in the south, Norrey-en-Auge in the south-west, Vaudeloges , Courcy and Vendeuvre in the west and Saint-Pierre-sur-Dives in the north-west.

history

On January 1, 1973 the following parishes were incorporated into the parish of Saint-Martin-de-Fresnay (1968: 169 inhabitants), which was renamed L'Oudon at the same time.

In 1990 the administrative headquarters (chief lieu) moved to the municipality of Tôtes. This also changes the INSEE code from 14624 to 14697.
