L5 is a French pop band .

Band history

L5 emerged from the first French version of the Popstars singing competition , broadcast by M6 since September 20, 2001.

The castings took place in Nantes , Montpellier , Lyon , Strasbourg and Paris . On November 8, 2001, the preliminary winners were announced. Since the then vocal candidate Marjorie Parascandola in particular passed the last tests, the line-up was no longer changed. With Happy Face , Évidence and L5, there were three alternatives to choose from for the band name . At the end of November 2001, L5 was announced as the new band name.

The first single, Toutes les femmes de ta vie , sold more than 200,000 copies in the first two days, a sales start that had never been seen before in France. Overall, this first L5 single achieved sales of over 1.6 million copies.

L5's first concert tour went through France, Belgium and Switzerland. It began on May 16, 2002 at the Atares in Le Mans and ended on June 25, 2002 in the Parc des expositions in Reims .

In 2007 L5 split. The band was founded in 2014 and 2016. At the last new foundation, under the name New L5 , Adeline Gomez and Julie Herbillon replaced Claire Litvine and Louisy Joseph, who had not been active for L5 since 2007 .
